It is certainly absorbed orally. It just undergoes extensive first pass metabolism, through mainly methylation and glucuronidation at the 8 position. Sublingual administration gets around that. However, we are also working on some compounds that can be taken with 7,8-DHF that can inhibit the metabolism. We just did not want to make any claims about that till we had a chance to test them.
