Hello, I am the one who shared the news that Jason Lalancette (a.k.a. Isochroma) had died.
I am writing again because I feel compelled to share some more personal details about Jason's life. I know he could be a character online and so was the target of mockery even after his death, but he was also very misunderstood,
and because of his conditioning he was rather powerless to help people understand.
So I feel obligated to clear things up, and in sharing, I also hope that his story impresses upon you the unoverstatable importance of simply being kind to others. You will see, I think, that if Jason had had more of that in his life, things would have turned out very different for him.
Jason was from British Columbia, in the Victoria area. He was taken care of by his mother, Ann/Anne (spelling uncertain.) They were very poor. She had had another family before having Jason, and was older, about 40-50 when Jason was born. Jason's father, name unknown, was not really in the picture. He owned a taxi/limousine company in Victoria.
The earliest accounts of Jason's life come from a glassblower named Mark on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, who was close to Jason and his family. Th…

Jason use to email me every so often with ideas he had about new molecules, or interesting mechanisms. He was a very creative person. He was also very dedicated to trying to improve himself; albeit through questionable methods at times. Him and my late business partner, also named Jason, would go back and forth on a lot of interesting ideas. In some ways they had similar aspects to their personalities, and both had similar methodologies for coming up with new molecules, or modifications to existing ones. It's very upsetting that both of them had their lives cut short.
Everyone should be aware just how powerful kindness can be to someone. It literally is the difference between life and death at times. No matter how crazy someone is being, be it in person or online, always remember that there is a human behind it all. That human is a culmination of not only their own genetics, but everything that has happened to them over their life. We often lose sight of that fact behind the filter of a keyboard and screen, but everyone here is a real person, with real emotions and feelings. Everyone has their own story, with their own battles they have won and lost, and their own struggles that they continually deal with. Sometimes those struggles are happening in real-time as they type here. If we all strive to be kind to everyone, and understand the real person behind the words, it not only will make the world a better place to be in, but it might actually save someone's life.
I hope that Jason rests in peace. Perhaps there is more to our existence than we know, and both Jasons are somewhere right now bouncing cool ideas off each other, and coming up with new ideas. I know that the lessons I learned from their lives will stay with me forever, and consequently, their memories will live on.
