Quick question about bitcoins after the big Coinbase mess

I was one of those that got my Coinbase account closed due to Ceretropic purchases. I successfully moved my bitcoins off Coinbase and into Mycelium. It was awesome, it took just 30 seconds to get the coins.
1. I want to find out whether it's safe to buy nootropics with this Mycelium account or if I should push them out to another wallet for doing any purchases. Are the feds going to come down on Mycelium too if I buy some piracetam with it?
2. Is there a good Bitcoin exchange you all recommend? Gemini looks nice but they want photo ID, SSN, and a bunch of information. Is this pretty much what I have to do if I'm funding from a US bank, or are there smarter ways to do this?
Thanks!

1) Yes, that's your wallet. It's safe to use for direct purchases. This was not a government thing. This was a "Coinbase being overly cautious because of badly written US laws" thing. Also, we are using Coinpayments invoices now. So we are not going to run into an issue with a wallet being flagged, as each invoice generates a unique wallet address.
2) Gemini is good. There is also CEX.io, Paxful, Coinmama, and Localbitcoins. You're going to have to give ID and info to US-based exchanges now. That's pretty unavoidable.
