Ordered L-theanine from Ali-Express, arrived today, isn't powdered, but crystallized

Ok, so when I ordered, I had reservations, but since I can't get my hands on any of it in my country, I really didn't have a lot of options.
Anyway, it finally arrived today and I was surprised that it's not powdered, but rather in small crystals, as if it's sugar.
The taste is sort of sweet, but definitely not as sweet as sugar, and it leaves a unique taste on my tongue after I tried it.

If you're concerned, you could send a sample to a GC/MS testing lab like ecstasydata.org. It would be cheaper to just buy more theanine though
Theanine is cheap, is this the price that you put to your health? The quality from the suppliers in Aliexpress is the worst that I've seen in my entire life. Throw away that bag of tainted methamphetamine.
The hyperbole is strong with this one. You most likely have l-theanine, and its probably quite pure. Crystals are normal. Substances have to be powderized to form a powder. Could be an honest mistake in forgetting that step. Generally with these Chinese vendors you should assume incompetence, but not malice.
I would message /u/MisterYouAreSoDumb to see if he knows anyone that can give an idea of their reputation or has worked with them himself. I'd never heard of supplements being sold on this site, but it seems to have a wide variety of other products. They probably get the theanine from another supplier. Try to figure out who that could be.

Aliexpress is just Alibaba. It's the same crapshoot in quality, just with lower volumes. It's a Craigslist for Chinese companies. It connects people to suppliers. They might be good, or they might sell you completely fake or impure crap. Throw that shit out. L-Theanine is cheap. Don't risk your health.
