Polygala Tenuifolia Update After Three and a Half Weeks

Original post in this thread

I wanted to follow up on some the of discussion that had gone on regarding Polygala earlier this month with an anecdote after three and a half weeks of use. Hopefully it will be helpful to some and continue the experimentation with this fascinating plant.

Several Observations:

- Quick, moderate onset of antidepressant effects in the first few days of dosing
- Moderately stimulating
- Strong effect at relieving cognitive dysfunction due to depression (nootropic effect with depressed individuals)
- Has cumulative effects, which have continued to build over time
- Reverses Anhedonia
- No effect on anxiety at moderate dosages, may increase anxiety at high dosages
- May contribute to insomnia in those who are sensitive to stimulants
- Mixes well with other herbs and supplements

I began taking Polygala on July 14th after reading one of the threads about its unique pharmacology. From the start, there were antidepressive effects, and a lift in mood (although the mood boost could be unpredictable). This has become stronger over time, and there is less and less mood volatility the longer I take it. My guess is that the serotonin reuptake inhibition is beginning to hit its stride, and is…

Fyi, it's unlikely it's Nyles that's ignoring you. I had emailed them a while back about Luteolin and ETA. They responded and said both that and Apigenin are getting more difficult to source quality product since the demand has went up (in assuming from that response that they're extracting it and not synthesising it? Or possibly a semi synthetic, I dunno.) They said it's getting to expensive for people to be interested purchasing.

Anyways, point is, it wasn't Nyles, it's someone who works for him. I still agree that it shouldn't be an issue for a CoA though?

Nyles7 has never done 3rd party testing, and just gives people the supplier COAs. It's been talked about a few times on here. Another moderator also asked him for COAs, and all he eventually gave were supplier COAs. He seems to be content just reselling product imported from China, and trusting the suppliers.

Not could, would. At the time we would only go down the tablet route in certain instances. We have since expanded our tablet offerings a lot. So we are considering tablets in a lot more scenarios than we were last year.
