I have a questions about Examine.com and aniracetam.

On Examine.com on the section "Serum 3.2" it says in relation to "Plasma levels of aniracetam have been noted to peak at 2.3mcg/L (300mg) and 14.1mcg/L (1200mg) with an elimination half life of 35 minutes following ingestion of aniracetam.[1] It appears to have extensive first pass metabolism in the liver[1] with the main metabolites being N-anisoyl-GABA, 2-pyrrolidinone, and anisic acid. 95.8% of the dose is recovered, mostly in the urine, 28 hours post ingestion.[1]"
Does this mean that our body only uses 4.2% of the dose of aniracetam we use?

~~No. It just means that 95.8% of it is not broken down any further.~~
Edit: Never mind, I'm wrong

That's not actually what it means. See my other comment. They use carbon14 to radio-label a dose of Aniracetam to test its pharmacodynamics. Aniracetam is almost immediately broken down in the liver, and very little reaches the blood stream. The effects are from its metabolites, mostly N-anisoyl-GABA. Those metabolites are then excreted in the urine, feces, and exhaled as CO2. They are saying neither aniracetam, nor its metabolites, build up in the body.
