Why does activated charcoal improve mood?

I sometimes take two pills and it immediately makes me feel better. Although I understand, it's not a good idea to take this stuff regularly or at all.

Activated charcoal absorbs all sorts of things from your GI tract. This can include toxins from invasive bacteria in your system too. If I get food poisoning, I immediately take activated charcoal every hours or so, till it starts coming out my system. Then I reintroduce probitics with prebiotics, to get my system back in balance. Since you are noticing feeling better after activated charcoal, you might have some less than ideal bacteria in your system, which could be creating compounds that are affecting you adversely. I would see a gastroenterologist. That's who turned me on to activated charcoal for food poisoning in the first place. Just keep in mind that it will absorb most things from your GI tract, including probiotics and nutrients. So you do it in cycles, and with a plan to reintroduce probiotics and nutrients afterwards.
