can someone describe the effects of Fasoracetam for me, stimulant or downer?

I understand that its a GABA-B antagonist, but I also read it upregulates the GABA-B receptor so is it safe to say it acts as an inverse agonist, or only when your off Fasoracetam do the GABA-B effects show?

That seems semantically contradictory. How can something act as an agonist and an antagonist on the same receptor at the same time?

A partial agonist is something that binds to a receptor, but activates it to a lesser extent than an endogenous ligand. So it is still activating the receptor, but actually lowering the action potential compared to what your body would normally do. That is different than an antagonist, which blocks activation of the receptor altogether, or an inverse agonist, which actually reverses the action of the receptor. So what OP might have meant was it was a partial agonist. However, we don't have that data on Fasoracetam. We know it up-regulates GABAb. However, we do not know the exact mechanism yet.
