How you say something is just as important as what you say. That is social interaction 101. This sub has grown a lot in the past couple of years, and yes, some new users are not as scientific as one would like. Even I sometimes find myself being a bit too anecdotal at times, or placing more value on unproven postulations than I should. It's human nature. We are naturally suited to pattern recognition. Science is about proving those patterns with reproducible results. Sometimes we lose light of that, due to our need for answers that make sense in our own heads. That does not make people dumb. That makes people human. A more constructive discussion would try to assist people in recognizing those shortcomings, and give ways to be more scientific in their daily lives.
So while you may be emotionally reacting to what you perceive as stupidity, rhetorical leading questions like this do nothing but marginalize people, and create hostility. Then you have trolls that come out to capitalize on the tension created by those interactions. It's a useless circular exercise. Controversial discussions can still be constructive. They just have to be framed in the correct manner, and not done in a hostile way.
Most of what you are trying to position comes down to happiness. Happy people live longer. That is a scientific fact. The health effects of stress and depression are widespread, and cause more damage than people think. The specifics about what make certain cultures happier varies. It certainly does not prove that exogenous supplementation is useless. All it proves is that people should strive to be happy. We should still use our collective knowledge to try and advance our understanding of human cognition. We could all go live on a tropical beach, fish for our own food, raise a family, and lead a stress-free life. That might make us live longer. It certainly does not advance the human species, and our understanding of the world around us. Moreover, constantly saying things like that, in a sub dedicated to discussing Nootropics, is annoying.
If you want intelligent discussion regarding your position, it has to be delivered intelligently.
