Nootropic city capsules?

This may seem like a silly question, but does anyone know if you can ingest the capsules from Nootropic City? I always thought they were plastic and dumped them out into water. They seem to splinter and break just like plastic. However today I dropped one one into some spilled water and the capsule changed it's texture, less ridgid and plastic like, more pliable. Then when I read the bottle it says "capsules- cellulose".
Have I been doing this wrong? I'd rather not try swallowing one before checking. Thanks.

Haha, at least you had the courage to ask. Capsules made of cellulose are meant to be taken orally, and break down in your GI tract. Nobody out there would be selling plastic capsules, as that would be a hazard to people's heath. Most capsules are either gelatin or cellulose. The gelatin can be softer. However, it is made from animal sources, so it is not vegan. Vegetable cellulose is the preferred one to use for vegetarians/vegans.
