How do we know nootropics vendors are giving us the right nootropics?

Original post in this thread

I will preface this by stating that in no way am I attempting to flame or discredit any of the companies listed or alluded to in this post, nor am I attempting to come off as conceited, pompous, etc. I apologize if any of my words seem to come out this way.

My sister is a Pharmacist and is very uncertain about the state of the nootropics industry. Since many companies can just tell you "Hey, yeah, this is the correct nootropic, here's a GS/MS sheet", but how do we know these tests are legit? Photoshop is a thing, if someone just gives you a picture of a GS/MS sheet, how can you confirm it's legitimate?

For example, Ceretropic says they work with USP & Sigma Aldrich for testing. How can we confirm this? This is in no way meant to flame you, Ceretropic, I would legitimately like to see verification as to how we can all know that what we're buying is legitimate. (Definitely no hard feelings toward you, /u/misteryouaresodumb, I would just love to bring this up as a point to see how this all works.)

My sister is under the impression that this industry, without regulation by the government or FDA, is unsafe as a whole and entirely unreliable. That, because we're all just "random peop…

Thank you for your response! It means a lot to see such an in-depth response regarding this concern. I will be sure to e-mail you with any questions I have. :)

I didn't understand the majority of what you were talking about with regards to testing, reference numbers, etc., but it's also nice to see an example/explanation for how you approach your products and the amount of care you put into ensuring your products are of good quality, unlike some companies (Not any in particular, but this has happened before) that just ship off whatever they source from China, just assuming they shipped the correct product. Now, of course, you guys brought tianeptine sulfate to the market, but I am talking about other nootropics that are offered by more than just Ceretropic.

Again, thank you! I was very much hoping for a response from you, as I was referring to Ceretropic in much of my post, and you definitely seem to be one of the most knowledgable individuals in this community on all aspects of nootropics.

Looking forward to trying your tianeptine sulfate soon. :) What would you recommend for dosage & dosing regimen?

My pleasure!

There is no recommended regimen, as there are no studies on the sulfate given as a powder alone. However, based on all the anecdotes, 25mg 1-2x per day seems to be the standard.

My experiences with high dose (100mg+) tianeptine over a two month period

You need to start tapering off it now! You are not using it properly, and are going to cause yourself harm. Tianeptine is hard on the liver at those dosages. It is not meant to be taken at 650mg/day. Your usage is irresp

Reputable nootropics vendor with products that come with microscoops (or whatever they're called)?

I don't think anyone should include microscoops. It promotes the idea that volumetric dosing is accurate, which cannot be further from the case. A milligram scale is ALWAYS needed to accurately measure lower dosages. Not

If my imaginary friend was used to 12.5mg Tianeptine sodium three times per day, I would say try 40mg once per day. Basically, take the dosage for the sodium salt, multiply it by 3.3, then only dose once.
