I started my nootropics quest about 5 years ago and I've personally tried an EXPANSIVE range of supplements, stimulants, brain games, racetams, duel n-back, tried cognitive behavioral therapy, etc.
OVER THE PAST 5 YEARS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAS MADE A REAL LONG TERM IMPACT!
I used to like to tell myself that it's like growing hair. Day-to-day you don't really notice much but eventually there's an obvious difference when you look back to where you had started. However, when I look back I think I have developed techniques and have become more consciously aware of my brain function which yielded any minimal benefits that I have gained while under my past noot stacks.
STOP WASTING YOUR MONEY.
The majority of studies conducted with supplements have used LARGER than normal doses for an extended period of time to yield honestly mediocre benefits. The studies that have had convincing results were usually amongst older adults (55+) OR individuals who are afflicted with some sort of cognitive drawback.
I have found the best long term cognitive enhancer through my STRESSFUL quest for the perfect noot stack. I'm sure many of you have heard of this stack before but I'm telling you, BY FA…

Shut down the subreddit. It took 67 of the same post, but this has convinced me. There is no pharmacological way to enhance the brain. It has been decided.

I am going to sell yoga DVDs. I will wear a neon leotard, and blast 80s music with people dressed in full-sized stuff animal costumes. That is my backup plan.
