Most multivitamins use non-bioavailable forms of certain things, too low/too high of dosages on the ingredients, and include things that inhibit the absorption of the other ingredients in the pill. For example, too much zinc can cause copper deficiency. Calcium and magnesium fight each other for absorption. Beta carotene and vitamin C can inhibit niacin from working. Vitamin E and A inhibit vitamin K. So for a real multivitamin to work well, it would need to be like 4 pills spaced throughout the day, with different things in each pill. That would be the only way to get efficient absorption of everything. There are some out there that do that, but they are very expensive.
