Tried a bunch of things... Then tried modafinil.. Ready to toss everything else out.

All the others either did nothing or made me jumpy and kinda a headache. Then I tried modafinil and it helps in a subtle but clear way. Still need caffeine in the morning to go with it though... Anyone else feel the same or just frustrated that nothing has clearly helped?

I may be mistaken but I was under the impression that Modafinil was more of a stimulant than a nootropic. Am I wrong? I have avoided it because I grew up with drugs like Ritalin, Adderall, and Stratera and I hated the way they all made me feel. Serious issues with appetite on all of them. If it's even remotely like taking any of them then I would like to keep it far away from my stack.

Similar, but not the same. It is a wakefulness promoting agent. However, it does have some stimulant qualities to it. Some people get appetite changes with Modafinil, but not like Amphetamine or Methylphenidate.
