Would it be correct to say that l-tryptophan is superior to 5-HTP for correcting serotonin deficiency (since 5-HTP bypasses natural rate limiting)?

Just making sure I understand the principle correctly.
EDIT: I'm not taking either of these, I have no reason to think I'm serotonin deficient, I'm just double checking that the 5-HTP is going to give you more serotonin, faster, and bypass the body's natural rate limit at the tryptophan hydroxylase stage.

I've responded extremely well to drugs that affect serotonin receptors. Prozac changed my life and then I asked to increase my dose (stupid in hindsight) and I got side effects. 5-HTP and EGCG work extremely well for me but I'm nervous since reading more into it so I want to stop taking it.
Bacopa also works really well for me except I have moments of extreme emotion while I'm on it (I'm also trying to have a baby so bacopa isn't a great choice right now).
I'm thinking about trying l-tryptophan but I've also read mixed things. Depression might be a good thing for me, since I'm really high strung and have tons of anxiety. I respond well to most depressants and most times they seem to increase my concentration.
Maybe there isn't a perfect drug for me but I just feel like I've responded so well to serotonin drugs that I should keep looking.

Have you done 23andMe testing, to see if you have some mutations that affect your serotonin turnover?
