I agree with you, but my concern is that if we, some of the leaders of the nootropics community, stand silent, then the only people left who are willing to speak to journalists are the critics and the charlatans. I fight hard in my interviews to make clear the nootropic concept and provide them with lots of papers showing the evidence so that they cannot truthfully write that there is no evidence of efficacy and safety (which is a common refrain of critics).

I agree. That is why I answered some questions about the testing program. I just only answer questions on topic, and only via text, so that conversational asides cannot be taken out of context. It's all about framing a position. When you give up control of that framing, your words can be taken totally differently than you meant them. Type them out specifically, and the journalist can be sued for libel if they deviate from them.
