Personal anecdote, but I figure it's worth putting out here.
I'm one of those people that respond really well to Piracetam. First discovered this wonderful world of nootropics in 2007 and started ingesting pharmaceutical-grade Piracetam. I took 800-1600mg first thing in the morning with coffee for nearly 5 years.
The effects were wonderful, they still are to me-- verbal fluidity, increased motivation, quicker thinking, better recall, pro social, wake up in the morning with ZERO grogginess. This was my baseline for years, I was an enhanced version of myself.
After 4+ years of use however I've grown fed up with being dependent on a pill to get my morning started, wanted to break free so I decided to quit cold turkey-- bad idea!
First day was fine as Piracetam's effects usually linger on to the next day for me. Second day without wasn't too bad either. It was at the third day going forward was where I noticed I had become almost mentally handicapped. Zero motivation to do things, slower recall, stumbled on my words and was generally below my "baseline" self. Given Piracetam's antiplatelet effects, exercise and breathing were more labored as well.
At that I decided to get back on…
