Combining nootropics (especially tianeptine) with "heavy" opiods

Original post in this thread

My wife has a serious condition which gives her an extreme amount of pain. She is currently taking hydromorphone for breakthrough and has similar delayed release medication that she takes once every 12 hours.
She also takes other medication for sleep and depression, because being in pain 24/7 does not make you a happy camper.

She views my use of nootropics and other "supplements" and things like kratom/kava kava akin to visiting a witch doctor and does not want to have anything to do with what I take. The other day I finally convinced her to take l-theanine for RLS which seemed to work since she slept at 2 am vs. 6 am.

Anyhow, I have been extremely impressed with tianeptine which for me is a mood enhancer at lower doses and and opiate like in higher doses (50mg).

Does anyone here use tianeptine as a supplement in addition to their normal prescribed pain medication to reduce pain? Any improvement
in relief would be interesting for me and maybe I can convince her to try.

I was on approximately 150 mg tianeptine daily for spout 6 months. Had emergency abdominal surgery, and was hospitalized for 5 weeks. I most definitely had built up opiate tolerance by using the tianeptine, I required much larger doses of pain meds (IV Dilaudid and oxycodone for breakthrough pain). I think the doctors thought I was a bit sketch because of the amounts I was asking for.
Similarly, a few years ago I went in for a knee replacement after taking significant amounts of kratom daily for months proceeding that to deal wih the knee pain before the surgery. Afterwards, I could barely feel the effects of 20 mg oral doses of oxycodone, and went through my pain meds quickly. Again, the doctor was a bit suspicious. I ended up having to tolerate a lot more pain post-op than I should have, even though I was taking near heroic doses of the opiates.
Just my experience.

The 7-hydroxymitragynine in kratom most definitely makes oxycodone less effective. It is more pronounced if you use red veins.
