About the decline in interest in PRL-8-53

I'm trying to figure out how to phrase this in a way other than "why aren't you guys interested in PRL-8-53 anymore?" but that's essentially my question. I mean, look at this.
Does it just not work, or are the effects not useful to most people? Are they too mild to notice? Does it just seem too sketchy?
While googling around, I found some relevant posts by /u/3AlarmLampscooter, who seems to be (or to have once been) a fan:
[First placebo-controlled case report of 5mg PRL-8-53 improving information retention 128%
](http://www.reddit.com/r/Nootropics/comments/1qai69/first_placebocontrolled_case_report_of_5mg_prl853/)
And, 3 months ago, in a thread about amphetamine, in /r/todayilearned (emphasis mine):
> Modafinil is a far better study drug.
If you want to just straight up memorize stuff, PRL-8-53
I'm also a big Coluracetam and Phenylpiracetam fan.
Hope it's not inappropriate for me to dig up and present someone's old posts like that. It's just that his posts interested me the most, because he did hi…

It may not be as hyped as some other things, but I certainly find it useful on occasion. It does noticeably increase my ability to remember small bits of information. It is not increasing high-level cognition, though. Not to mention, I have noticed a trend lately with people wanting more mood-heavy effects, rather than memory-heavy effects.
