Have you experienced negative effects from nootropics?

I'm gradually dipping my toes into nootropics, but I'm concerned about some of the long term negative effects. For example, I've heard people saying that after stopping racetams, they felt like their functioning was impaired from before they began!

So, have any of you experienced negative effects from nootropics, either short or long term?
