Hi again, guys! You may not remember me, but more or less 3 weeks ago i made a post about how my parents found my "nootropics stash" while we were on vacation.
If you haven't read it yet, you can read it HERE.
Now, the reason I didn't make an update sooner is simple.. nothing really happened. At most, I made my parents trust me a little less. I guess the simplest way to tell you this is to make it a "story", so here it goes:
My father was extremely upset with me for not telling them about what I was doing with nootropics. He told me that we would talk about this on the way home. I didn't want this, and an opportunity approached that i could avoid having that conversation. Instead of riding home with my father, I went on a mountain hike with my mother, sister and some others from the camp before leaving.
This went well, and I actually seemed to avoid the conversation all together. I don't know if this is a good thing, but the whole "drug addict son"-thing never got brought up ever again. I think this is mostly because my parents don't want to break bonds with me just weeks befo…

Yeah, i know you are right. Problem is, evading an uncomfortable situation seemed really simple then, and it still kinda does. But I'll talk to him about it when I get the opportunity.

Honestly, you need to address it with both of them. If your dad didn't care about you, he would not have even said anything. He may not be handling it properly, and may just not know how to. But at least you know he gives some shits about you. You need to respect that, and make an effort to talk to him about it. And even if your mom is acting fine now, she is probably worried about you. That is what parents do, even if you are 35 years old. They never stop worrying.
So sit down with them and help them to understand what you are doing, and why you are doing it. Tell them you appreciate that they care enough about you to be worried, and that you want everyone to be on the same page. A little honesty can completely change the family dynamic, and make everyone not only understand you better, but respect you more as well.
