Anyone had a bad reaction to Suntheanine?

Original post in this thread

I have started taking Suntheanine 150mg to combat anxiety. I have taken it three times now on different days. I feel like I am reacting badly to it. On the first day I didn't really have any reaction. The second day I took it sublingually I could not sleep and had palpitations and racing thoughts. I did drink this with vitamin c so not sure if that would have caused a bad reaction. I took it today again and got extreme nausea/loss of appetite and a raging headache and just a little sleepyness. I don't understand why it is not agreeing with me and this is so frustrating. Has anyone else had this kind of reaction. It is the Doctor's Best brand of Suntheanine.

I have read a couple reports of people having sleep issues with L-theanine. L-theanine does increase dopamine in the striatum, and serotonin in the hippocampus and hypothalamus. So perhaps you are just sensitive to these changes.

Here to warn the community that I've experienced debilitating rebound anxiety when taking l-theanine. It was 100 percent this substance. Quit a week ago and back to baseline. Theanine is going in the trash.
