Adrafinil sleepiness

Original post in this thread

Baileycu · 3 points

I took 300mg Adrafinil yesterday and 150mg Adrafinil this morning and I have felt very sleepy both days. At first I thought it may have been caffeine withdrawal so I had a Starbucks coffee and 100mg more caffeine as anhydrous in addition which should be more than enough to appease any potential withdrawal (since I don't have much more than 80-160mg ish a day of caffeine). Still very sleepy.

Does anyone else have such a reaction? Is this the sort of drug that builds up and has it's intended effect after a few days or is just hit or miss for people?

edit: Also I had a full night's sleep, around 8 hours worth.

Yeah, I was hoping to be productive today because I have exams on Monday lol but my eyes feel heavy and I have a strong urge to sleep, bleh! In addition to my post I took 10mg of my prescribed methylphenidate and I still feel very tired (I take methylphenidate very infrequently so low doses are strong for me). It's really odd. My body feels stimulated now but my mind feels like I took a first generation anti-histamine.

Wow, even with the methylphenidate and caffeine you are feeling tired? That's weird!

Yep, my fault guys. I'll just stop posting, and things will get better. It's all on me... You can all go back to caffeine/L-theanine, long winded modafinil, and "does piracetam work" posts. No need to advance the communi

What is the best nootropic for someone looking primarily for a boost of energy and motivation that's stronger than caffeine but less extreme than amphetamines?

6mg of melatonin is too much. I take .5-1mg. Melatonin has been shown to be much more effective at lower doses. Lower your dose and see how that works. 6mg would mean a very hard time waking up, and hours of foggyness in

It's really very complicated. There is competitive binding affinities you have to consider. Plus, downstream mechanisms that may alter the effects. Not to mention the varying level of responses between different people.

Smart drugs: A dose of intelligence

Replying to BigYellowLemon · I have never read an article about nootropics that left me with anything but anger and annoyance. The only "nootropics" I ever hear about are methylphenidate, modafinil, caffeine

It's because the people that actually have something to say don't want to talk, and the people that want to talk have nothing to say. Did the world need another article about amphetamine, methylphenidate, and modafinil?
