Telling people about nootropics.

So here's my situation; I take Modafanil (and other noots) often/occasionally and love the effect it has. I'm a student and want to tell friends about it, but I also fear that they will 1) think that it's wrong to use a drug to gain an advantage or 2) tell a school official and I would be punished.
I've stayed quite about it all to my friends, the only people that know are my family and my doctor. What would you guys do? What experiences have you had telling people about nootropics?

I tell everyone everything about my life. If they are confused or concerned, I go into more detail about it. If someone ever judged me for it, I would not give a shit. I do not want to surround myself with people who judge based on ignorance, and am not willing to change how I act or what I say to tiptoe around it. I kept my thoughts and feelings in for too long during my depression. I made a promise to myself that I would never do it again. If every decision I make is in line with my personal set of morals, then I should have no problem telling anyone about it.
Obviously I leave illegal activities out of conversations with law enforcement, but that's about it.
