Minimal Stacking vs. Maximal Stacking

Original post in this thread

Recently I've noticed a lot of folks on here going pretty crazy with their stacks, combining upwards of 10 different substances. Instead, what I've tried to do is target the two or three that I find to have the greatest efficacy (for me... as you know our metabolisms aren't the same). But the approach is what I find valuable and universal. That is, experimenting with many individually, but ultimately paring the stack down to your optimum, based on what sort of effects you're looking to achieve, whether it be stress reduction, wakefulness, what have you. I've found that with more complex stacking, the overall effects tend to become muddied, and you're failing to get the most out of each individual component. Just for shits, here's my current stack:

L-Theanine+Coffee

Piracetam+Choline

Fish Oil

Kratom on the weekends (this is not exactly a nootropic, but I've found that I can manage my consumption of it down to twice per week, and it produces wonderful anxiolytic effects and has a profound impact on my creativity).

Anyways, what do you guys think about big stacks vs little stacks, if you will

It really depends on your reasoning for taking nootropics in the first place. My motivation is more one of curiosity and knowledge expansion. To do that, one needs to push the envelope.

For those that are looking just to improve their lives with real world results, simple and effective stacks are best. I tell people that all the time. If you are getting results with reasonable doses of common nootropics, stick with it. If your goal is to constantly be looking for new and novel substances, and to expand knowledge of neurological processes, then more experimentation is needed.

So it really just depends on your motivation for being a part of the nootropics community.
