Scientific sources for MDMA 1-3 month rule

I have seen people on this sub saying you should leave a gap of 1-3 months between taking MDMA. I have yet to see a credible scientific source for this rule. Can somebody post a credible scientific article to show me where this rule comes from?

Have you seen the Sky show on MDMA? The heads of psycho-pharmacology of both UCL and Imperial claim MDMA is not neurotoxic, what do you think?

No I have not. I'd love to see their evidence, though. Given the evidence that we have, it's pretty clear that MDMA can be neurotoxic. There are literally hundreds of studies dealing with MDMA induced system damage.

Perhaps they mean that MDMA is not neurotoxic at low doses in humans. Even then, that is a bold claim given the evidence.
