Modafinil might have given me Herpes

Original post in this thread

I'm using a throw away account so I don't taint my primary account with the stigma of Herpes.

I've been using modafinil for about 5 months now. I tend to use it on Monday's to start the week off with the energy needed to run a small tech company.

I weigh 64kl/150lbs and started with 200mg. And limited any other use in the week to 100mg to avoid building tolerance. I also drank a lot of coffee with it.

With time I've pulled back. I avoid coffee with modafinil and I've reduced my dosage to 100mg whenever I take it, and 50mg if I think I need a little boost later in the week.

Three weeks ago I came down with Herpes zoster which is related to chickenpox. You can check wikipedia.

When I finally went to the doctor they told me it was stress related and happens rarely to people under high amounts of stress who develop a weak immune system.

The thing is, I've always been under a high amount of stress, for years. My first thought was "could this be related to modafinil?", so off to Google I go and I find Practical Use and Risk of Modafinil, a Novel Waking Drug and found the section…

I hear that modafinil really gets around. Always use protection.

In all seriousness, I should look more into this. With the immune system issues I have been having, perhaps modafinil is playing a larger role than I have anticipated.

It's time to have the Modafinil talk again.

It's been seven months since I made this post: http://www.reddit.com/r/Nootropics/comments/199n7l/modafinil_posts/ We had a lull in the modafinil posts for a while, but now they are back in full swing. I just want to re

Here to warn the community that I've experienced debilitating rebound anxiety when taking l-theanine. It was 100 percent this substance. Quit a week ago and back to baseline. Theanine is going in the trash.
