Adderall and Theanine

Has anyone has any experience with this combination?

With caffeine and theanine being such a popular combination, I can only imagine replacing caffeine with adderall would produce beneficial effects.

I've considered trying this as well but opted to try other supplements for several months so that I can get use to not taking adderall/ vyvanse every day (which is what I did until 3 weeks ago).

I have been experimenting with the doses of theanine (100 mg vs 200 mg, last dose at 7pm vs. 11:30 pm). Also taking b-complex, but no caffeine, during day. When I take theanine right before bed, I seem to have trouble falling asleep. For me it seems the best way is to take my last dose in the evening and then mg malate near bedtime. So there is some mild stimulative effect for me.

Interesting what commenters have said about theanine negating adderall. Probably some dose optimization could help figure this out. Heart rate data would be so nice to have as well.

The negation they are speaking to is most likely the euphoric aspect. This is due to the increased GABA release from L-theanine, which is the inhibitory neurotransmitter involved in balancing out glutamate. Glutamate is heavily involved in euphoria and excitability.

Something is wrong with this sub

Yep, my fault guys. I'll just stop posting, and things will get better. It's all on me... You can all go back to caffeine/L-theanine, long winded modafinil, and "does piracetam work" posts. No need to advance the communi

What is the best nootropic for someone looking primarily for a boost of energy and motivation that's stronger than caffeine but less extreme than amphetamines?

6mg of melatonin is too much. I take .5-1mg. Melatonin has been shown to be much more effective at lower doses. Lower your dose and see how that works. 6mg would mean a very hard time waking up, and hours of foggyness in

I wrestled with that one for a long long time. I don't blame you for being disappointed. The vast majority of the products we are releasing are not going to be proprietary. However, the Alcohol Defense definitely needed

A word on caffeine + l-theanine

Replying to AoE-Priest · Both interesting studies. The first one actually also showed some anti-nootropic effects of theanine as well, but overall both studies seem to be suggestive of at least minor syner

L-theanine is certainly anti-nootropic for me, unless I am using much stronger stimulants than caffeine. Everyone's GABAergic system is going to vary. Mine has seen some things. I can take all sorts of stimulants, and be

Anyone else take L-theanine every day?

Replying to zpkmook · You could say the same for most drugs. It is new in it's isolated concentrated form. Plenty of people think that it could be dangerous in the high dose ranges because they have not

You can't really say that about most drugs, though. Not much has been used more than caffeine, L-theanine, and alcohol across human history. Also, it's not new in its concentrated form. It was discovered in 1949, and fir
