Seems to be neuroprotective too: Inhibition of 6-hydroxydopamine-induced PC12 cell apoptosis by olive (Olea europaea L.) leaf extract is performed by its main component oleuropein.
However... the olive tree is great at accumulating environmental Aluminium apparentlyref, which of course is heralded as a contributing factor to cognitive decline.
I actually tried to contact one supplier of olive leaf extract, (Swanson Vitamins) and they've refused to comment on the aluminium content and have also refused a request for a CoA saying that only business partners are allowed to view that information.

That's sketchy! Perhaps taking magnesium malate with it would help. Malic acid is a good chelator of aluminum, as is citric acid. Quercetin has also been shown to prevent aluminum absorption.
