CRL-40,941 - Adrafinil with a 4-fluro group on the phenyl group. Same is possible to do to Modafinil! More potent, which means less is needed, which could mean a healthier alternative.

That conversation was actually with me! I don't understand why this isn't done to more compounds. A lot of people have trouble with modafinil because of various skin irritations and whatnot, so I'd imagine if you had to take half as much it would make these symptoms much less severe.
Also, back to that 4-flurophenylpiracetam. What if instead of that you did a 3,4-methylenedioxy-phenylpiracetam type compound? Do you think that would have any MDMA-esque effects? Or does the methylenedioxy group just function as something to help it cross the BBB?

Ohh, haha! Sometimes I think I am going senile...

It's already been tried, and found to be less effective than the normal phenylpiracetam. It's due to the fact that the methylenedioxy group is actually decreasing the molecules affinity for the DAT and NET. Without the full amphetamine structure, there would not be much 5-HT affinity, so the extra functional group would actually be counterproductive.
