Someone told me this theory that anyone who says thank you sir or hello good sir on the internet has to be under 25. Not bashing but it seems to hold true (Don't worry I do it too and I am 20.. good sir?)

As do I, and I am 27. Also, I always say "thank you sir" whenever I am out and about and someone does something nice, like hold the door open. I just seems proper, and picks people up a bit. Cheerio good sir!
