Psychopharmacology Research Paper

Original post in this thread

Hey everyone,
Just joined this subreddit, hoping for some advice/ideas. I'm writing a final paper for my psychopharm class, and directing my attention towards nootropics and neuro-cognitive enhancement by pharmacological means. However, I'm trying to stay clear of broad topics such as the ethics and social implications, and heavily discussed topics such as ADHD (I will surely have to reference it numerous times as it is.) I would like to focus most heavily on the mechanisms of the drug action, as opposed to the behavioral effects.
I've got total access to nearly all journals and publications, so this is as much of a help to me as a potential source of good research papers for all of you. (I'm willing to share whatever articles I use, and my paper, eventually.)
So, Nootropics, what ideas might you have for me, and what would you be interested in hearing more research on?
Thanks!

If you do decide on modafinil, I would personally be interested in the histaminergic effects. I have a histamine disorder that causes me to take large doses of histamine receptor antagonists. Even though the main one I use, cetirizine, is less likely to cross the blood brain barrier, at the doses I take it's pretty unavoidable. Modafinil increases histamine in my brain, while still letting cetirizine do it's job in my periphery. Although it's other modes of action interest me as well.

It's time to have the Modafinil talk again.

It's been seven months since I made this post: http://www.reddit.com/r/Nootropics/comments/199n7l/modafinil_posts/ We had a lull in the modafinil posts for a while, but now they are back in full swing. I just want to re

Here to warn the community that I've experienced debilitating rebound anxiety when taking l-theanine. It was 100 percent this substance. Quit a week ago and back to baseline. Theanine is going in the trash.

Found Nootropics in sons room.

Talk to him about it. Modalet is just Modafinil. It is a lot safer than the Amphetamine he is on for ADHD. However, he should make sure you are okay with everything he is doing. You are his parent, afterall. But you need
