Anyone else experience hallucinations on higher doses of MDMA?

Original post in this thread

I've found on higher (and rather stupid) doses of MDMA i've begun to see and hear mild hallucinations. Looking back on the experience, they are quite scary, but at the time i seem to just stare and not really care that much.

Notable ones i can remember are:
- hearing my friend and his girlfriend talking in the hallway (his girlfriend had gone to bed 6 hours ago and my friend was right next to me).
- Seeing peoples faces staring at me from cars, when i tried to get closer looks, they turn back into the headrests.
- Seeing people's silhouettes down the street, which turns out to be lamp posts or bins.
- Saw a face in the knot of a tree
- One of the more bizarre ones was when i managed to imagine a conversation and the outcome of the conversation (ending with my friend shouting at me and storming out of the house) in the space of about 3 seconds. When i began to apologise profoundly to my friend, he simply stared at me confused and speechless.

Anyone else tripped on MD?

MDMA gets metabolized in your liver by the CYP3A4 enzyme into MDA. About 10% of your total dose becomes MDA, which is much more psychedelic. MDA is a 5-HT2 receptor agonist. LSD and psylocin are also 5-HT2 agonists. Sometimes conditions can occur where your body metabolizes more than 10%. I've definitely had mild hallucinations on high doses of MDMA. I prevent it now by taking a CYP3A4 blocker. I take quercetin and grapefruit juice to accomplish this. It works very well. How much MDMA did you take? I've seen some people on here take a gram. At those high of doses, you are looking at between 100-200mg of MDA. That will be psychedelic.

do you think ecstasy users underestimate the dangers of the drug (particularly hyperthermia-related issues)?

petition for ND to change the filler 'maltodextrin' to something else

We almost never use maltodextrin in our formulations. We purposely avoid it, not because of compelling science, but because it is just easier to agree and move on than fight that fight. However, what most consumers don't
