Any side effects from Infini-B?

Original post in this thread

Been giving infini-b once a day to a parent who has hypothyroidism due to cancer treatment 20 years ago. She's on thyroxin.

She said today she felt like she had a silent heart attack and her BP skyrocketed... now obviously could be a coincidence but it was 30-40 mins after I gave her the capsule. I did some quick searching to find someone saying they had chest pains from infini-b (but post was deleted).

I think I'm going to stop giving it to her.

Personally I have no issues and find it to be a great supplement.

Guess this thread will get downvoted and possibly deleted because the cult of ND doesn't like any negative experiences lately, but it would be nice to rule it out.

Thanks.

Alright im sorry, I am just trying to avoid toxicity. And the studies seemingly seemed to say it was toxic. Also, I have bipolar disorder and I’m not in the best mood right now, I probably should’ve engaged when I was better mentally. I am stressed trying to find good supplements to help me. If it’s not toxic, then great.

No worries. I am stressed too. That's never a good combo for conversations online. You have nothing to worry about with P5P. One study even showed that you could take P5P to counteract the toxicity from pyridoxine.

Conclusion: The neuropathy observed after taking a relatively high dose of vitamin B6 supplements is attributed to pyridoxine. The inactive form, pyridoxine, appears to competitively inhibit the active form, pyridoxal-5′-phosphate. As a result, symptoms of vitamin B6 supplementation are similar to those of vitamin B6 deficiency. [Page: 1]
In summary, pyridoxal-5′-phosphate itself does not appear to be toxic. Instead, it seems to play a protective role against the toxic effects of pyridoxine by competing with it.

So actually taking P5P counteracts the potential toxicity from too much pyridoxine. We do a lot of research in our formulations, and I make these products for myself as well. I take them personally, so I have a vested interest in making sure they are safe and effective.
