Beta-Glucans: Tiger's Milk vs Yeast Extract
Original post in this thread

Are the 50% minimum beta-glucan content in both supplements the same? For example, if I switch from Yeast Extract to Tiger's Milk, would I expect the same immune benefits from the beta-glucan content in Tiger's Milk since it contains the same amount?
Does stacking these 2 supplements also cause issues due to excess beta-glucan?

Beta-glucans are a class of compounds with thousands of structural iterations. You can't compare total beta-glucans of one species to another like-for-like. You can look at the branches, like 1,3 or 1,4 or 1,6 branched beta-glucans, but even then those are big groupings of hundreds/thousands of potential structures. You can compare the quality of one yeast extract to another yeast extract by comparing beta-glucan totals, but you can't compare completely different products. It similar to polyphenols. You can have a total polyphenol measure on many different products, but each different species of plant are going to make totally different polyphenols.
