Is ND's maca good or is there better? I keep reading about gelanitized maca, black maca etc. Which is the one to go for for mood and confidence? Testosterone and libido boosts would be welcomed secondary goals.

Everyone talks about macamides/macaenes as the primary actives, but I think we have proven that to not be the case. They are certainly the main actives for the endocannabinoid effects, but many people are probably looking for the more energetic effects from the alkaloids, glucosinolates, and thiohydantoins. Some might also be reacting to the nutrients and minerals in whole maca root. For those people looking to feel that traditional maca feel, our maca will be a disappointment. It's very much a cannabinoid-like effect.
This explains a lot. Honestly though the product info page might as well come with a little disclaimer. I'd be very interested in future, other maca extracts though!

It's really tough to get all the complexity across to everyone in a format that does it justice. Also, sometimes we really don't find out critical pieces of info till we release a product to a larger set of people. We can only learn so much from our internal beta testing, and a lot of times the bulk of that data comes from me and /u/Pretty-Chill. However, him and I generally react similarly to things, which means we don't get to see the effects someone with drastically different brain chemistry has until it's is fully out. There really is no replacement for larger sample sizes. Now that we have a better idea of this macamide thing, I think we can add a section on the product page to hopefully make it more clear.
