Question regarding ND’s product dosages

I was wondering what is the policy/philosophy behind the recommanded dosages of ND products. Are they just based according to what most research suggest ? Are they they just here to give an indication on average dosage recommandation ?
I am asking because I have seen a lot of people not taking recommanded dosage of some products.
For example I have seen more than once people taking 500mg of Primavie Shilajit instead of the 250mg recommanded. Some people taking up to 2gr of L-Tyrosine instead of 500mg etc.
Should I stick to what ND recommands or is it actually "opened" to self experimentation ?
Another more precise question about magnesium L-Threonte.
Recommanded dosage is 1g at night for a week then 1g morning and another 1gr at night. What is the reason behind it ? What improvement can be expected after uping the dosage ?
Thank’s in advance

Our dosing suggestions are based on a review of the available research, internal discussions among our scientific team, and then internal beta testing to see how we all react. Most other brands just copy each other and set their doses to whatever the other products in the market already are. We obviously review what everyone else is claiming to dose, but we choose our dosing based on our own research and testing. We do put a lot of thought into what we set, so it is a good place to start. However, that's not to say you wouldn't react better to a different dose. We even offer different doses of the same product a lot of the time, because everyone is so different. One dose isn't going to be perfect for everyone. A 250lb man will take a different dose than a 100lb woman. We also try to err on the side of caution most of the time. Dosing up is perfectly fine, though. Self-experimentation is the name of the game.
On Magtein specifically, we are forced to put that dose and suggestion due to the TMLA from the patent holder. Those doses were not set by our team. Sometimes with patented products we have to follow the guidelines set forth by the patent holders instead.
