Beta-Ecdysterone - What does 50% mean?

It has been a while since I placed an order and now I'm back in a ND fiend frenzy. I've done my research and decided to pick up Beta-Ecdysterone among others.
I have forgotten what the 50% means. When the label says 500mg is serving size, does this mean I am ingesting 500mg of the substance or 250mg based on the 50% label. Just want to make sure I'm doing it all properly. Sorry if this is dumb question.
Thanks!

It's 500mg of a Cyanotis arachnoidea extract standardized to 50% beta-ecydsterone. It's similar to how our nobiletin is a Citrus aurantium extract standardized to 20% nobiletin, or how our hesperidin is a Citrus aurantium extract standardized to 90% hesperidin. They are plant extracts standardized to a specific % active, not pure synthetic molecules.
