WTH is the reason I need to show a copy of a utility bill to place an order on your site?

/u/MisterYouAreSoDumb I tried placing my first order on your website yesterday and everything seemed ok. I got a confirmation email that it was a success and everything so i didn't think about it again. I checked my email right before bed and saw I had an email that verification was needed, whatever, no big deal it's not the first time. Then I read the email I got. I'm supposed to send a picture of my ID, my credit card (oh I just need to block out some of the numbers cause that makes it safer!), and a copy of a utility bill?! WTF I'm not trying to get a loan for a car here! I get that you're trying to protect yourself from fraud, but asking a customer to send all of that seems fishy, and that you say it's going to some third party not even you guys, I would have felt better if it was going to you guys, but I'm supposed to do all of this and then inform your customer service that it was done so they can go check? First of all who the hell is this third party I'm supposed to send all my info too, and second according to the email I had an hour to do this or my order would be canceled. And yeah. I've done some work on a cannabis delivery business so I probably know some of what you're going through, for some reason I didn't think a supplement company would have the same problems. Interesting and I'm sure annoying.
Sorry for the frustrated post and email, I was just thinking "well shit through unfortunate circumstances I know I could look like fraud, but I won't ever be able to verify myself!"
