/u/MisterYouAreSoDumb do you have any insights about this and dosing in ND products? How does the dosage in ND products compare to this testing?

The dose in rats that they saw cytotoxicity was 2,000mg/kg. When correcting for allometric scaling, that corresponds to a dose of 322mg/kg in humans. This would be a 24 gram dose for a 75kg adult. So way way way higher than any human would ever take. Moreover, they didn't make any determination as to what is causing the toxicity. They mention coumarin was found in small amounts in there, and that can be cytotoxic. That's also in high amounts in cinnamon, so cinammon would be cytotoxic as well at certain doses. Does that mean we all need to stop consuming cinnamon? Studies like these spread fear without giving context to the dosages or concentrations needed to reach the effects. Many things can be toxic if you dose high enough. That doesn't mean that it is a risk at normal dosages.
