It's definitely a common misconception. However, I do find it funny being in the industry and hearing it. Next time we have to deal with an FDA inspector, I wonder how they would respond if we just told them: "You can't tell us what to do! We are not regulated by you!" LOL

The only way you can reliably do that is via assay, which we do on every batch. We assay the contents of the finished capsules via HPLC/UPLC to ensure they contain the actives they are supposed to.
