Disclaimer: I have made a youtube video I am going to link, but I understand not everyone has time to watch so here are the key points :)https://youtu.be/nPMbTun1j1s

1. Herbal supplements, as a class of agents are the #2 leading cause of liver damage. In fact one of the systematic reviews cites a study from a few years ago that 59% of herbal products (sample of 44 products) have plant species not listed on the label - basically the stuff is swapped out.
2. Contamination of heavy metals can be a problem for manufacturers who do not follow safety procedures (poor FDA regulation makes this possible).
3. Unlike drugs, potency/purity is not guaranteed. You aren't necessarily getting what you think you're getting. Melatonin supplements are an example of this.
4. Placebo/nocebo effects can make it easy for companies to cherry pick poorly designed studies and leverage predatory marketing to sell you stuff that might not work.

I know you guys love your supplements here and I myself also love the idea of taking things that can produce a positive effe…

A finished product Certificate of Analysis (COA) issued by an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited lab (in-house or third-party). The valid ISO certificate showing name of accreditation body and accreditation number must also be submitted.
lol for a lot of compounds there are no validated testing standards or iso 17025 accredited labs that can do the testing. How are they dealing with that

They removed the requirement for ISO labs a couple months after they instituted it. It pissed me off, because we spent a shitload of time and money getting our lab ISO certified, but then Amazon just removes that requirement quietly. That's just normal Amazon for you, though. You can't trust anything they say for shit. They will make rules then change their mind after you already spent the money to meet them.
