Difference between free shipping and 2 day Fedex?

I used to buy from Nootropics depot many years ago and was under the assumption that the free shipping option was still going through USPS. So I've been paying the $10 Fedex 2-3 day shipping option since USPS doesn't deliver to my current address (UPS and Fedex do). Recently I came across a post on here that said that the free option now is Fedex 2-3 day. My orders are always over $50 btw. Am I missing something here? Have I paid shipping several times for something I could've gotten for free? Thanks for any info on this :)

I checked and yes it does say that. When I previously ordered I didn't see it. It's confusing to have the option to pay for FedEx 2 day at checkout when the free option is the same thing.

The issue is that Bigcommerce doesn't give us the ability to remove that shipping option when a cart value is reached. It can only add the free shipping one with a cart rule. We have asked them for that capability, but so far it has not been programmed. Perhaps when we move to optimized one page checkout we'll have more flexibility. Hopefully that will be soon. We are just waiting on the cryptocurrency integration to be approved and enabled by them. We are just at the mercy of the capabilities that Bigcommerce allows during checkout.
