Why isn't Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kola) getting more attention?

What they were answering

edefakiel · 3 points

I already talked about the doses there:

"The experimental groups received orally 10, 50, 80 and 100 mg/kg aqueous leaf extract daily for 60 days and the control group received just water. "

And it does indeed say that it affected the hormones, as I copied:

"Serum testosterone, follicle-stimulating hormone, and luteinizing hormone levels also showed significant decreases in the experimental groups (P < 0.05). "

It has been used for thousand of years, but commonly in combination with pro-androgenic herbs, like Ginger, precisely because of its antifertility effects. But let's talk about irresponsability. What I find irresponsible is to defend a herb which is suspicious of causing endocrine damage just to get some profit out of it. It shouldn't be used until this point it's elucidated, one should be cautious, there is no reason to use this herb over others that are not under suspicion. Would your opinion of a pharmaceutical drug with this kind of research behind be the same? In case that you wouldn't benefit from it, I mean. I don't see you commenting, for example, the absolutely insane and nonsensical study allegedly proving its cognitive benefits - what do you think about it? Oh, yeah, let me guess: Gotu Kola may help promote memory function and promote mental clarity-, I don't see you refraining to make very dubious claims in your page about the benefits of some of…

So no humans studies showing lower testosterone, then? I asked for a single clinical case of human toxicity with gotu kola. Speculation on a study with Winstar rats is not what I asked for. I didn't ask for long-winded editorializations about the implications of the word "may," either. Why does merely being challenged on your assertions send you into a long-winded post about whether or not I am a good person, or if selling peptides was being responsible? I asked for a single case of human testicular toxicity. I also didn't attack you, your character, or bring up random other topics in an attempt to steer the narrative. I merely asked for a single case that would give weight to your claim that is is toxic to human testicles.

I respect you, I admire you, I have refrain many times to dispute your claims just to not mess with your business, because I really admire you. I think that you are intelligent, I also think that you treat your customers like idiots, I also think that your customers are idiots.

This makes no sense. If you respect and admire me, you would not refrain from discussing claims that you feel are inaccurate with me. I've never asked for that. If I make a claim in a discussion that one feels is incorrect, someone that actually respects me would challenge me on it and help to fill in the full picture. The idea is to find the truth, not fabricate a lie. That's what mutual respect is. Not everyone is always going to be right. I certainly am not. However, if there is never any factual discussion about the times when something might be incorrect, there is never any advancement towards the truth. It doesn't seem that you actually respect me. You think I am making up lies to sell shit... gotu kola of all things. You are lying to yourself if you think you respect me, but also think I treat everyone like idiots and lie to sell things. Those two concepts are incompatible with each other. I would never respect someone I honestly thought was lying to people just to sell shit. So you need to do some soul searching here. Either you are just lashing out at me in the moment because I challenged your assertions, or you don't actually respect and admire me.

Also, making statements like "I also think that your customers are idiots" is a very offensive was to go on the defensive. Why go that route? You can be better than that.

You may add, you know, a little, really insignificant line, on the bottom of your website, running at full speed, of course, so you can barely see it:
Centella Asiatica may be toxic for your testicles.

I don't think it is, based on a preponderance of the evidence. If I actually thought that, I would. Actually, if I actually thought it was toxic to human testicles, I WOULDN'T SELL IT. Also, you are acting like I personally write our blogs and product descriptions. I don't. Those are not my words. My team does that, and there are many reasons why they might word things the way they do. If you really wanted to be helpful, rather than simply lashing out at me challenging your assertions, you would have written me about the statements you thought were not backed up by evidence. That way I could look into them and address them with my team. That would be a productive outlet for your obvious pent up anger towards me and "the industry." Again, that shows a lack of actual respect. You say you want to help people, but it honestly feels like you want to feel superior to them by posting things like this in public forums instead. They are all idiots. Right? If there are statements on our site you feel are not scientifically sound, alerting me to them would actually be helping people.

Is this responsible? I didn't see you voicing caution there.

All our products say to not mix them with prescription drugs. You want me to personally hunt down anyone discussing combining a bunch of supplements and multiple stimulant drugs and tell them it is irresponsible? Furthermore, what in the hell does that thread have to do with the possibility of testicular toxicity and Centella asiatica?

So honestly it's disappointing you responded this way. It was an emotionally defensive response to having your assertions challenged. Nobody is better off for it. I don't think anyone is safer because of it. We are no closer to the actual truth behind the science. I certainly don't feel better after reading it, just like you probably don't feel better after writing it. Or maybe you do, and that was the actual point of writing it? I also have no issue with you bringing up the science behind things. I was criticizing your initial certainty in wording, which you have now changed in a sarcastic attempt to criticize our use of the word "may." Saying "there might be some evidence it could affect testosterone negatively" or "it can be toxic to testicles in rats at certain doses" is very different than saying "Because it is toxic to the testicles" as you initially did. Anyway, I invite you to take a look at yourself, just as you did with me. If you honestly feel your response was an objective attempt at helping people, not an emotional attempt at lashing out at me, perhaps there is not much more we can say to each other.

And I am going to be straight up with you right now. I recently saw a comment from you that said "Cyanide pills end depression." in a thread where someone was asking for advice on how to help their family member with depression. It was obviously removed by another mod for breaking the rules, but I was shocked you would say something like that! Are those the words of someone trying to do good? It honestly disgusted me when I saw it, so don't play this innocent "I am just trying to help people" game. Look at yourself in the mirror. Be better.

Will heat or acidity degrade noopept? (can I put noopept in my morning cup of coffee?)

Noopept's melting point is 97*C (206*F). That is less than boiling, which is what most people use for coffee. So I would not suggest putting it in boiling water. I'd be worried about stomach enzymes too. Oral administra

For the first cycle, I ran 5mg/day for 20 days for Epitalon and Thymalin. I ran 10mg/day for GHK-Cu. I ran 1 gram a day L-carnosine. My second cycle I wanted to try a higher dose/lower time frame cycle. So I ran 10mg/d
