I will expand a bit. When we use our automated filling line on smaller jars, it can actually fluff the powder on the rim of the jar itself. Then when the jars go through the induction sealing process, that powder on the rim can cause issues for the liner properly sealing. The only solution is to size up the jar so that the nozzle of the automated powder filling line can go into the jar a bit when filling, which prevents that powder from fulling up onto the rim. It's always ideal to have some headspace in jars because of that reason. We try to use as small of packaging as we possibly can, to reduce waste. However, sometimes we have to size up for specific instances like this.
