Triple strength fish oil taste
Original post in this thread

I've just received some Triple Strength fish oil that's taken a very long time to arrive, and probably spent a few days exposed to higher temps.
I've tasted it for rancidity, and it does taste of fish, but it's not overpowering.
Anyway, could someone who is in possession of some do the same taste test and confirm?
Many thanks in advance!

Temperature is not rally an issue with fish oil. It's oxidation. The softgel material prevents oxygen from absorbing, and our bottles are PETE, which also prevent oxygen from getting in. So there should be no issue.
Fish oil tastes like fish. You would know if it was rancid, as it would be a very strong overpowering taste. We test every single batch of softgels for peroxide values before approving them. So we make sure analytically and empirically that no oxidation has occurred. Our limit is 5 mEq/Kg or less. Rancid taste starts happening in the 30-40 mEq/Kg range.
