Magtein Withdrawal

Original post in this thread

eamonn123 · 4 points

I just bought some magtein from ND. I just say that there seems to be a significant withdrawal affect when you stop taking it. Is that true and something I should be worried about? Thanks

It's not something you should be worried about. However, you are not crazy. I get it, too. I am still trying to figure out the mechanism behind it. It might just be getting magnesium to the brain really well, and the drop in magnesium is leading to the effects. It could also be something to do with DKK1 (Dickkopf-related protein 1) expression by the threonic acid. Increased DKK1 is implicated in both Alzheimer's and hair loss. Because magnesium L-threonate is a magnesium ion chelated to threonic acid, it could be resulting in increases of threonic acid in the brain as well. Threonic acid results in attenuation of DKK1 expression. Perhaps the rebound effects of that are what we are feeling.

ETA on when Lithium Threonate will come to fruition?! I am sooooo excited for this and have been checking the ETA’s daily, haha. The last update was 4 months ago. Thanks for all you guys do!

The manufacturer we were working with pulled out on the project, and the other labs we have gotten interested want crazy MOQs. We are still working on it, but it is hard to get manufacturers to take on projects right now
