Beta-Alanine Request
Original post in this thread

Is there any possibility of a Beta-Alanine choice in the future? I know you guys sell L-Carnosine, but from what I've read, most of the Carnosine isn't absorbed when supplemented (most likely due to the plasma carnosinase enzyme). Are there more recent studies that I'm possibly missing? Thank you.

You have to overwhelm your carnosinase enzyme to get the longevity benefits of L-carnosine. Beta-alanine is used to make L-carnosine in the body. However, your rate-limiting enzymes prevent it from getting high enough plasma levels. Supplementing a large single dose of L-carnosine allows you to overwhelm your carnosinase enzyme, and get your plasma levels high enough for the beneficial effects. Also, N-acetylcysteine increases the bioavailability of L-carnosine. So you can take them together for good effect.
