No more Nammex?

Original post in this thread

Hello,

I noticed ND doesn't source its mushroom extracts from Nammex anymore. Why is that? How do the new extracts compare with the ones from Nammex?

With every Nootropics Depot branded product, we source things ourselves, set our own standardizations, then test to ensure they meet those specifications. Mushrooms were different at first because I didn't know enough to feel comfortable in the beginning. This is why we worked with Nammex to start. We also wanted to help spread the message about mycelium on grain, and how people were being misled. That message has spread a ton, and Nammex has grown a lot in the meantime. No doubt me putting my name behind their products helped them immensely with that growth. Both us and Nammex are on the same mission to get people talking about these things, and improve the science behind mushrooms. However, we are a very unique entity, and do things very differently than pretty much any other vendor out there. I like to be involved in as much as I can, and maintain more control over the entire process. We are vertically integrated to a very high level, because frankly I don't trust other people to hold things to the standards I feel they should be. So eventually we always bring things under our umbrella once I am comfortable we can do it right. That's what I have done from day one, and what I will continue to do as long as I can. One day we will have our own farms for certain things, and have our own extraction facilities. I am building an R&D one right now, in fact. Everywhere I look I see room for improvement. So if I can make the economics work, I do it. We are in the process of patenting our own novel extracts, and building a whole R&D program for completely new things. We actually already have made some VERY cool novel extracts and new compounds, and I have even trialed them myself! So one day you will see us selling patented extracts to other companies, just like Verdure, PLT, Natreon, and other places like that. We are not just here to sell things. We are here to advance things. That was the promise I made everyone here back in the early days when I started Ceretropic, and I will continue to make good on that promise. To do that I need control, so that is what we are doing. The more I can control, the more I can improve. It's as simple as that!
