Why is the recommended ratio of Theanine to Caffeine 2:1?

Is there research that has compared and shows a diminishing return on cognitive ability after a 2:1 ratio? Just because research indicated a 2:1 ratio is better than placebo does not mean that a 4:1 ratio wouldn't be better than a 2:1 ratio.
Just curious as some things become "common knowledge" just because everyone else heard someone else say it (i.e. 'breakfast is the most important meal of the day' 😂)
I personally find that even as much as a 4:1 ratio has really pleasant effects.

Literally one study caused everyone to think that. It's not right for everyone, for sure. Different ratios of caffeine and theanine are needed for different people. One size does not fit all.
